For me, a recipe needs to be simple and cost-effective. I also have zero desire to go grocery shopping or on a search for the ingredients that I need for a recipe. If you were to google vegan brownies, much like other vegan baked goods, you’ll find that you need some rather strange ingredients.
After multiple failed attempts, I have finally succeeded in making the perfect fudgy brownies with no eggs, no butter, no milk, and no chocolate chips (of the dairy or non-dairy variety).
Ingredients:
3 frozen bananas
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp dark cocoa powder
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
6 Oreo cookies
1 tbsp vegan butter
Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease your baking pan (set aside).
- Pull bananas to thaw.
- Use your food processor to make your brownie bottom. Add Oreos to a food processor and pulse until crumbs are even, add vegan butter and then press crust into the bottom of 9″x9″ pan.
- Blend together peanut butter, brown sugar, and cocoa powder.
- Add thawed bananas and mix until combined.
- Add flour.
Bake brownies for 25 – 30 minutes or until center of brownies can pass a fork test.
