Let me set the scene. You’re home alone with three children and haven’t had a good nights sleep in over a week. Your brain is barely functioning at this point and you’re likely to start hallucinating at any moment from the exhaustion. The one year old and the three month old are crying at the same time, who do you help first?
Whatever you do is wrong because the one year old would rather smush his own crap into his ass than let you change his diaper and the three month old thinks he wants a binky, a bottle, to be held and to be laid down all at the same time.
But wait! Where is kid number three? Well, the poor four year old is still sleeping in our bed making our room inaccessible. The fever from yesterday turned out to be a nasty case of strep throat. (I’m not sure what the incubation period is for strep or where he came into contact with it). His fever got up to 104 degrees while we were at Urgent Care which is horrifying but I’ve seen worse with this little man. He and I shared my bed for a bit last night watching cartoons before I turned it over to him and slept on the couch. We were up until 4:00AM. On a positive note, that’s the last time he had a fever reducer and his fever has yet to come back. (Nosey mommy; I’ve been checking on him every half hour).
Side note: I actually got to have a lunch today which is a first in a while. A nice chunky romaine salad with chopped chicken breast, yum! Then I went to grab my new favorite salad dressing (cucumber ranch) and it was empty. Go figure almost every other dressing in the refrigerator was expired. So I made a tasty little dressing for my salad instead.
- 1/8 cup olive oil.
- 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
- A dash of pepper.
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
- 1 teaspoon onion powder.
- 2 teaspoons celery salt.
- 1 1/2 tablespoon Herbes De Provence.
I feel a little bit recharged thanks to my lunch but I still feel like I need Scotch tape to hold my eyes open.
