What is the easiest, fastest, lowest effort way to lose weight?
I’m asking for a friend.
With my very first pregnancy I gained about ninety pounds, no joke, and it took me almost three years to lose every little ounce of it and fit comfortably back into a size four. Then just a few months later BANG! pregnant again and right back to being a lot larger than I ideally picture myself (seventy pound weight gain). Before I could even start attempting to lose weight SMACK! pregnant again. With no intentions to be pregnant ever again I am desperate to lose every pound as soon as possible and I’m hoping that by documenting my journey I’ll have more motivation. So here goes.
*Big breath…and exhale* 194 pounds.
Weight loss goal:
Reasons for wanting to lose the weight:
- Self confidence.
- Personal happiness.
- Healthy weight = healthy heart.
- Physically fit and able to keep up with my boys.
- Energy levels will go way, way up.
How am I going to get it done?
Well, lets be honest, I have no idea what I am doing. It took me nearly three years to lose the weight the first time around and the second time around I never even made a dent. I was lucky not to struggle with my weight my entire life and I’m nearing that age where my metabolism is sure to start slowing down. The only thing I really know is that I need to start eating better and exercising if I plan to do anything about my body.
Step #1 is to start counting calories and hold my self accountable for the food choices that I make. Today I wanted a small bag of sweet potato chips, before I even took a look at the calories I gobbled them all up and simultaneously took in over three hundred of my fourteen hundred allotted daily calories. I just want to clarify that I am not falling into any crazy diet trend and I’m aware that I need to eat appropriately because I am breast feeding. It’s not recommended to skip meals or eat skimpy portions while you are breast feeding, however, there’s nothing wrong with portion control and cutting out empty calories.
Step #2 is to start using spare time to get in some exercise. That means nice long walks every day, whether it’s with Baby M while he rides his bike, with the whole tribe on foot (and in stroller) or just with my pup. It also means fitting in some squats, jumping jacks and other monotonous workouts into my day to day routine.
Step #3 is staying dedicated! And considering I just put my current body weight on the internet for the world to see I can only assume that I will remain on track to reach my goal.
Aw man, I want a donut…
