So! I wanted to replace my fattening morning breakfast sandwich or my big bowl of nothing every morning with a more healthy decision. I bought about $30.00 worth of fruits (and some vegetables), flax seed and yogurt, then preprepared ten smoothies and stuck the Ziploc bags into the freezer door.
Grapefruit, strawberry, pineapple, raspberry, spinach, kale and chard.
Raspberry, peach and pineapple.
Strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, spinach, kale and chard.
Orange, peach and pineapple.
I also bought a bunch of bananas so that I can add them to smoothies or just make plain jane banana smoothies. The neatest part about having preprepared smoothies is probably how quickly I can make them up in the morning. Especially with my fancy little Nutri Ninja. I have been adding 1/2 cup of yogurt, almost 1 cup of water and a couple tablespoons of golden flaxseed to each smoothie.
My toddler has actually started to take sips of them now and again but this morning he caught sight of a bag with green stuff in it and pretty much told me that he would have no part of it. Hoping that I can convince him to give it a try, you honestly cannot taste the greens whatsoever.
